What bitrate you actually get
Most converter sites promise studio quality. Here's the honest version. When an artist uploads, SoundCloud transcodes the file into compressed streaming versions, and that's what any SoundCloud audio downloader can reach. SoundCloud's own high quality streaming page puts standard streams at 128 kbps, with 256 kbps AAC for Go+ subscribers who turn HQ on.
So choosing 320 kbps gives you a bigger file, not a better sounding one. It's still worth picking when you want headroom for editing, and 128 kbps is fine when you just want the track on your phone.
