About SC Utility Hub

Free, browser-based tools and plain-English guides for people who make, share and listen to music on SoundCloud.

SC Utility Hub is an independent site built for SoundCloud artists, DJs and listeners. It started as a handful of small utilities we kept needing ourselves: a quick way to get tags right, grab an embed code, check what a stream count might pay or turn a WAV into an MP3 without installing anything. It has grown into a set of SoundCloud and Spotify tools plus guides that answer the questions people actually search for.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by SoundCloud or Spotify. Their names are used only to describe what our tools work with.

How the tools work

Everything runs in your browser. When you convert a file on SoundCloud to MP3 or SoundCloud to WAV, the converter (a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg) runs on your own device. Your audio is never uploaded to us, and we never see it.

Track lookups use SoundCloud's public oEmbed endpoint, the same public data any embed uses. We don't ask you to log in and there are no accounts on this site.

What we won't do

  • Rip streams. SoundCloud's API Terms of Use prohibit stream ripping and capture, so our tools point you to the artist's own download when they offer one and convert files you already have.
  • Sell fake plays or followers. Our free plays guide covers promotion that brings real listeners, not bots.
  • Ask for your password. None of our tools need your SoundCloud or Spotify login.

How the guides are written

Guides like WAV vs MP3 vs FLAC and SoundCloud Go vs Go+ are checked against primary sources, mostly the SoundCloud Help Center, Spotify's own documentation and format specifications. We link those sources in the article so you can check them yourself. Prices, plans and features change, so if you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

Respecting artists

Every track belongs to the person who made it. Our tools are meant for your own uploads, free downloads, Creative Commons releases and music you have permission to use. If you are a rights holder with a concern, see our Copyright & DMCA policy.
