Do You Need SoundCloud Go for Serato?

Short answer: you need SoundCloud Go+, not regular SoundCloud Go. To stream SoundCloud tracks directly inside Serato, the free tier does nothing and the cheaper Go plan does nothing either. Go vs Go+: which one Serato actually uses

SoundCloud sells two paid tiers. SoundCloud Go is $4.99 a month. It removes ads and lets you save tracks offline on mobile, but it runs on a limited catalog and it does not include the DJ app integrations. Go+ is the full tier at $10.99 a month, and it is the one that unlocks the complete catalog (SoundCloud lists over 135 million tracks in full), high quality audio, and the Serato, rekordbox, and Traktor connections.

So when people say “SoundCloud Go DJ” or ask whether a “soundcloud go dj” mode exists, the thing they actually want is Go+. The regular Go plan is the weaker-value option for most people, and for DJs it is a dead end because Serato will not stream from it.

A couple of pricing notes worth pinning down before you subscribe. SoundCloud raised Go+ pricing in April 2026, applied to existing subscribers on their next billing date, and did not publish exact new figures (reporting estimated roughly a $1 to $2 bump). Which Serato versions support SoundCloud Go+

The integration works in Serato DJ Pro 2.1 or later and Serato DJ Lite 1.1 or later, according to the SoundCloud Help Center. So both the paid Pro app and the free Lite app can stream from SoundCloud, as long as you hold a Go+ subscription.

There is one piece of history that catches DJs on older installs. Serato published a known issue where SoundCloud Go+ streaming stopped working in Serato DJ Pro 2.5.6 and Serato DJ Lite 1.5.6 and earlier. The fix is to update: Serato’s current FAQ tells you to run Serato DJ Pro 2.5.7 or above. If your SoundCloud tracks suddenly greyed out or vanished from the library, an outdated Serato version is the usual culprit, not your subscription.

Once you are on a supported version, you connect the account inside Serato under the streaming panel, sign in to SoundCloud, and your playlists and search results appear as a library source. For most club and bar systems 256 kbps AAC is fine and no one on the floor is going to call it out. • SoundCloud Likes are not accessible in Serato. All those tracks you hearted while digging on your phone do not show up. You work from playlists and search instead.
• You cannot add streamed tracks to Serato crates. Your crate organization, the backbone of most DJs’ prep, does not extend to streamed SoundCloud tracks. Playlists have to be built and edited inside SoundCloud itself, then they appear in Serato as a source you can browse.

For the actual gig, especially anywhere the internet is unreliable, own your key tracks as local files. Local files play with no connection, they let you record your set, and they drop into crates like normal. A smart hybrid is to stream while crate-digging and pull down the tracks you know you will actually play so they live on your drive.

When you do that, keep it legitimate. If a track is offered as a free download or you have the artist’s permission, you can save it as a real MP3 you own using the converter at SoundCloud to MP3. Only do this for tracks you are permitted to download, and respect artists’ rights and the platform’s licensing.
